Graduate Students

We welcome applicants via the Psychological and Brain Sciences Graduate Program and Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Neuroscience. If our lab interests you, before or after you have applied, send an email (scott-bolkan at uiowa) to let us know!

Undergraduate Students

We love to have undergraduates join us from all backgrounds and majors — pre-med, psychology, neuroscience, engineering, computer science. We also love to have you join early — so that you have time to discover what interests you most and to develop indepedence.

There are options to join the lab for course credit (honors or practicums), hourly pay, or via external or interal funding (SROP or BSURP).

Research Specialist

A research specialist position (typically 1-2 years) is an ideal experience for someone who plans to apply to advanced training programs in medicine, psychology or neuroscience, but might benefit from experience in a neurobiology research lab.
